It is quite a journey since we got our Independence in 1947 on 15th August. We have completed 77 years of being an independent nation, and this independence day will be our 78th independence day on 15th of August, 2024.
Every year the country celebrates Independence Day by organising a national ceremony in Red Fort, Delhi. Our patriotism is worth noticing on this day. You can spot people flying kites on their terraces, having family gatherings, and watching the ceremonial event on the television. Since it is a gazetted holiday throughout the country, people watch the live telecast of the ceremony on their televisions. The Independence Day ceremony will start at 9 AM with the flag hoisting ritual.
